Stella Brown doll repair class

Stella Brown doll repair classWhere do I start? I inherited a large doll collection from my Mother and Grandmother.  I had my dolls repaired previously and the work was terrible. My Mother’s doll was in a bad way.  I checked all over Australia and was not happy with the responses or the results of the work I had seen.  I wanted the dolls to look like they had been not touched, more like Museum quality work. I had seen Janie’s website and was very impressed with what I had read about her doll repair class and I felt Janie was the right person to teach me.  I knew it was going to be expensive for me to fly to America and I was a little worried about how I would fit in being from Australia, but I need not have worried because Janie and Kirk both made be felt very welcome from the time Janie picked me up from the motel in Boise.  The course itself has been more than I expected. Janie’s knowledge in all aspects of doll repair, fabrics, patterns and right down to the appropriate year’s dress for the dolls in all eras is wonderful and she was so willing to share this with me.  The course is hard work and at times when things did not go right can be stressful, but Janie was there to guide me through it all the way.  The location is tranquil and peaceful and Kirk’s cooking is fantastic.  It has been like staying in a 5 star hotel for 3 weeks.  I am very happy with everything I have been taught and also know my mentor and now best friend will be there for me.  It has been the best decision ever made.  I look at my dolls and can not believe I did that with my own hands that I will take back to Australia the museum quality work that is not available there.  I hope I can do Janie proud when I start my own doll repair business.
